This patch addresses the catastrophic drop in many players’ population numbers in the September and October server update from 1.7.4.0 to 1.7.4.1. The new version of the Update has been deployed to the high population servers. Ensuring that everyone is able to connect to the game is of vital importance to us, and so we are actively investigating the issue to identify the underlying cause and rectify it, and we will update our forums accordingly. The game will be unavailable for approximately 24 hours whilst we perform this work, this will allow us to identify the cause of the issue and apply the fix on all servers and save dates. We hope to have this issue resolved for our Tuesday maintenance, and would appreciate any feedback on how the patch went for you, or if you are experiencing any issues. See you on the servers. Oh, do you have any idea how much the cost of developing those patches was? I'd bet it was thousands of man hours worth of work. I know I wouldn't want to take on that kind of risk. And about that, the patch for DirectX 10.1 came out this week, and at least according to what I saw in the new release notes, that update will only be for PC games. There was no mention of consoles whatsoever, and the exact same update went out on the Linux and Mac versions. So it seems like the only way to get an update for your console version would be to pay for it (which is also a dumb thing to do in a consumer market). Stupid update! I'd rather pay for a patch than have to spend hours trying to get this game working! no problem, was just being silly. I wonder if it's because they didn't want to update Windows 7 SP1 and the gfx drivers... or was it Vista, in which case it probably can't be done... To see what my actual save file data is after this patch and all the other patches (I have all the others). As I said before, I don't like giving out
